2007 - archive note: The original puzzle was a Java Applet written by Eric C. Harshbarger. This puzzle is generated from a PHP script called FS.WordFinder, by Robert Klein. In 1997-1999 Kids sent in photos to ToonaCat's PO Box, and he made the puzzles based on the photo. (attachments were limited in file size back then, and many kids didn't have scanners. Cell phone cameras were years away.) The photo was also scanned, uploaded and shown and credit given to the child who sent it.
